I once said to someone, “You pretend to be tough but when toughness comes back it throws you off”. I’m certainly not proud of this statement, but the lesson I learned form it is that you cannot tell someone that they are pretending when it is you that is pretending.
So as I update myself on this lesson I’ve realized that some statements are really just nonsense that have no meaning, other than to be mean: This was one of them. And to the person I said this to, allow me to apologize… – JCT
