Climbing Into Love…

Climbing Into Love was a concept that I was thinking about in 2004 when a friend and I were discussing relationships/love. I remember telling her “wouldn’t it be great if we could all approach love differently than we always do? I don’t want to fall in love because you can only fall for so long, but you can climb forever”.   I wrote a song that year about this concept; long before the Miley Cyrus song with a similar name. This is a demo version of the song that was never intended to be heard in public. But as I’ve said before, the value is in sharing, and not in isolation. I intend on recording it again soon. An Important Lesson…

Lessons are an important part of learning and growing. Maybe the reason why I cherish some lessons more than others is because of the impact it took to learn it. Today I was impacted with this as I talking with my dad about getting things in life we want: The thing that I fought against and refused to use (this “blog format” in fact) turns out to be the very thing that is now giving me what I’ve wanted for a long time. I’ve wanted to get this website in the public so that we can all share our value, because the value is in the sharing and not in the isolation. Someone extremely important, and valuable to me was doing her best to teach me that I could get everything I wanted from the very thing I was fighting against; all I had to do was stop fighting and open my eyes — it was right there all along. The lesson: When you have something or someone in your life that is giving you everything you want/need, adding resistance as they are giving you it only adds friction — the kind of friction that grinds you both down instead of polishing you up.
